Its been an extremely busy few weeks. I left work on the 15th April – a month ago – and since then have packed a house, sorted through a TONNE of things, applied for visas, travelled to Jersey, catalogued a LOT of spares, helped get Goliath ready, met loads of fab new people, enjoyed some amazing home cooking (thanks Norma!) and generally had a brilliant time.

Stef and David have been prepping the Landy, putting on the winch, doing a full service and  replacing a seal on the front axles which meant the whole wheel had to come off. And all the bits behind it. Luckily there was nothing left over, no bolts or springs so we’re fairly confident the wheels will stay on.

Behind the scenes, there has been a lot of packing of boxes: food, spare parts, kitchen stuff, toiletries and books and maps. Along with a very large tool box and all our clothes, tents and diving gear, not to mention an extensive first aid kit, Goliath is pretty full.

There will be more pictures soon, but there’s no time now, and the frequency of posts will increase I promise!

Our route is:

France, Luxembourg, Germany, Poland, Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland, Russia, Kazakhstan, Russia again, Mongolia, China, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and finally Australia.

So, wish us Fair Sailing, Bon Voyage, Toodle Pip and See Ya Later because this is it. The day. Finally the trip begins!
